More about the process
Following an accident there can be significant changes to a person’s life, both physically and mentally. It is important to respond quickly and ensure proof of events immediately following an accident. That will help us to protect your interests. You ensure proof by seeking medical attention, writing a damage report and/or providing a police report. It is also important that you fulfil the obligation to report an incident to the insurance company. Failure to notify the relevant party may result in a reduced compensation or even loss of compensation.
Then it is best to contact us so we can proceed with the case. We can immediately give you advice on the next steps and get started with gathering the information needed. We will also notify the parties concerned. The main evidence in compensation cases are usually injury certificate and certificates from general practitioner or medical specialists. Certificate from a physiotherapist or a psychologist may also be relevant if available.
Compensation can be claimed for several years after an accident. It is therefore important to contact us about your case and check the status, even though it has been a long time since an accident occurred.
Compensation cases can take a long time and usually it takes at least one year until the consequences from an accident can be evaluated. It is difficult to say how long it will take to collect compensation as no case is the same.
In most cases, a settlement is reached about compensation, especially when the insurance company is liable. In the event of a dispute regarding the liability or the amount of compensation, we take the case to appropriate ruling committees and/or the courts.
